JOB DESCRIPTION: MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - To carry out all architectural works as required by projects assigned. - To review and check that all architectural design is in compliance with local codes. - To manage all contractual and technical coordination aspects of a project when appointed Project Leader. - To prepare design schedule for every project in accordance with the “CONTRACT” scope of works and to see to it that all deliverables are finished on time. - To organize the design team, with the Design Director for your project; - To prepare Design Brief as required prior to beginning conceptual design; - To prepare the conceptual & schematic design outputs: Design calculations; Specifications; Other design information - To prepare the detailed design outputs: Detailed drawings; Construction details; Detailed Specifications; Materials selection - To gather all required information prior to entering design - To organize coordination meetings / coordinate closely with other trades and seek advice of other consultants as necessary; - To seek formal approval of the client prior to proceeding with the next phase of a design; - To amend the preliminary design out put upon receipt of client feedback. - To carry out detailed design according to the scope of work of project as per Design Work Instructions. - To carry out timely periodic checking of all architectural design being prepared by the Design team. This is to check the design in progressing without any delays and mistakes. - After completion of detailed design, to carry out verification and validation on design output as per criteria or requirements and before final printing and delivery. - To follow strictly Standards and codes of practice / Statutory & regulatory requirements and quality. - To participate in meetings and site visits required during construction phase - To participate in final construction phase and handover during “Author Supervision”. - To assist the BDM for technical support and estimates. - To assist the BOQ department for technical support by providing technical schedules. - To advise the Design Director for any problems during the development of the design. - To prepare monthly progress reports to be submitted to the Design Director. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PERFORMANCE STANDARDS & REQUIREMENTS:
- University graduate from Architecture, candidates with Master Degree or oversea training will be preferable.
- At least 10 years experience, preferably in Architect Design & Construction Consultant Company (or 10+ years of total experience, including 7 years of working on the core and shell of large scale complex projects)
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Highly motivated and quality orientated to achieve results and targets.
- Able to work in a professional, modern and team work environment.
- Responsible and dedicated team player
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent management, problem solving skills and solid managerial capabilities.
- Able to conduct and present well in both Vietnamese and English during meetings.
- Able to do translations for drawings/specs.
- Proficiency in using MS Word, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel and MS Powerpoint, AutoCAD and Photoshop.
- Basic proficiency in applications such as Sketch Up, 3D Max or Revit Architecture would also be an advantage.
- Able to conduct planning and design submissions in Vietnam. Through understanding of local laws and regulations
- Preferably possesses a License as a Practising Architect in Viet Nam.
